SB 2278  RELATING TO CAPTIVE INSURANCE                   CPN
        Allows conversion or merger of captive insurers;
        provides procedures and requirements for conversion or
        merger.

SB 2561  RELATING TO INSURANCE                      CPN, WAM
        Authorizes the insurance commissioner to use moneys in
        the captive insurance administrative fund to promote
        the State as a captive insurance domicile.

SB 2562  RELATING TO INSURANCE                           CPN
        Reorganizes provisions relating to the confidentiality
        of nonpublic information of captive insurers.
        Clarifies financial statement requirements.

SB 3043  RELATING TO STATE RISK MANAGEMENT AND      CPN, WAM
        INSURANCE ADMINISTRATION
        Gives the state comptroller the authority to establish
        a captive insurance company to insure the general
        liabilities of the State.

SB 3190  RELATING TO CAPTIVE INSURANCE                   CPN
        Permits captive insurance companies to provide
        personal motor vehicle or homeowner's insurance.

SB 3192  RELATING TO CAPTIVE INSURANCE                   CPN
        Establishes a new category of captive insurance
        company for reinsurers and excess insurers.

 
SB 2321  RELATING TO INSURANCE                      CPN, WAM
        Authorizes the Insurance Commissioner to regulate
        medical insurance premiums.

SB 2815  RELATING TO INSURANCE                      CPN, JDC
        Requires persons convicted of felony offenses to seek
        the Insurance Commissioner's written consent before
        engaging in the business of insurance.

SB 3189  RELATING TO INSURERS                       CPN, JDC
        Requires insurers to maintain a claims service office
        in the State.  Exempts individuals domiciled in the
        State and performing certain insurance-related matters
        from licensing requirements for adjusters.

SB 2731  RELATING TO INSURANCE                      CPN, WAM
        Requires refunds of taxes, fees, and other charges in
        error or excess to be paid out of general funds rather
        than insurance regulation funds.

SB 2564  RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE INSURANCE        CPN, JDC
        Reduces damages recovered in motor vehicle injury
        suits by 50% of the personal injury protection
        benefits rather than by greater of $5,000 of the total
        personal injury protection benefits.

SB 2565  RELATING TO COVERED LOSS DEDUCTIBLE        CPN, JDC
        Repeals law providing for covered loss deductible.

punched) of their testimony to the committee clerk, Room 219,
State Capitol, 24 hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also
be faxed if less than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-
At-Arms Office at 586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for
neighbor islands), at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  When
faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted,
the date and time of the hearing, and the required number of
copies needed for submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.
